I've been a photographer since I was at school, which is a surprisingly long time ago.

Having graduated with a degree in film and photography I have worked as a journalist, writer and photographer. Over the years I've taken a lot of photographs for magazine features, many of them written by me. And I'm the author/photographer of three aviation photography books.

As a journalist, my writing has appeared in a wide range of publications, from national newspapers, through consumer and business magazines to trade and technical journals.

My photographic work has mostly consisted of photojournalism and travel. These days, it focuses primarily on France and landscapes, and especially on the marks that humankind leaves on the land. That's something I'm exploring in The Layered Land, a series of book & exhibition projects focusing on my landscape work. The first step in this project was the publication of Finistère Insolite.

I write about photography on Cameralux, a publication I created on Medium.

I have also written two novels — Lady Caine and Black Project, both satirical thrillers.

Steve Mansfield-Devine a obtenu son diplôme en photographie «fine art» à Londres. Depuis, sa carrière a suivi trois chemins — en tant qu'écrivain, journaliste et photographe.

Les travaux publiés de Steve comprennent trois livres de photographie, axés sur l'aviation. En tant que journaliste, ses articles sont apparus dans un large éventail de publications, y compris des journaux nationaux, des magazines et des revues techniques. Il est également l'auteur de deux romans comiques.

En tant que photographe, l'oeuvre de Steve se compose principalement de voyages et de photojournalisme. Ses images ont été utilisées dans de nombreux livres et magazines à travers le monde ainsi que dans plusieurs expositions.

Aujourd'hui, Steve se concentre principalement sur les paysages, et il est particulièrement inspiré de la beauté du Grand Ouest — la Basse Normandie, la Bretagne et les Pays de la Loire. Il est fasciné par la relation entre la terre et l'humanité, et les traces que les gens laissent dans l'environnement. Il prépare actuellement une série de livres photographiques explorant ces thèmes.
